Hospital Pays $17K Ransom to Hackers after Crypto Attack

California Presbyterian Medical Center received a chilling wakeup call when a powerful Crypto infection locked up their files last month. The only way the hospital could get these files back was to pay $16,664 in bitcoins to the hackers. The hospital had no protection or backup recovery plan from preventing the Crypto virus, so they were forced to pay $17K ransom to unlock their files.
