On Saturday, April 2, NetStandard employees and family members volunteered with Lakemary Center to help touch the lives of more than 600 individuals this year alone.
Each volunteer dedicated their Saturday morning to give back to Lakemary by painting many of their program rooms where adults pursue community employment, basic skill development, and have meaningful leisure activities. Employees and their families enjoyed learning about Lakemary’s adult program, which serves 120 individuals in residential settings throughout Johnson and Miami counties and over 200 in vocational programming. With NetStandard’s volunteer commitment, the adult services’ kitchen, classroom, and multipurpose rooms had a fresh look. Not only was this experience of sprucing up these program areas rewarding, but NetStandard volunteers also helped support the success of Lakemary’s services.
For more than 40 years, Lakemary Center has provided services to adults and children with developmental disabilities or delays. NetStandard’s involvement helps Lakemary Center provide the care and services individuals and families need to grow and function to their very best and highest potential. Lakemary has served as a resource for families across the country always staying true to their mission: providing choices and opportunities for children and adults with special needs to maximize the freedom and control they can bring to their lives.
