The Marketing Tool That Can Transform Your Sales Process


Successful marketing isn’t what it used to be, and that’s a good thing. With tools like a marketing automation system in place, companies can transform their marketing efforts without adding a lot of cost—or effort—to the campaigns they already have in place.


That’s why we are excited to announce that we are now offering Act-On Software to our product mix. Although there are many marketing automation tools available on the market, we believe Act-On’s platform to be one of the best and most affordable for companies like yours. We like it so much, in fact, that we have been using it ourselves for almost five years.


Since marketing automation is fairly new to the small and midsized business community, let’s take a look at what Act-On and marketing automation in general can do for your business.


What Is Marketing Automation?

Marketing automation tools are software platforms designed to help companies market across multiple digital channels—like social media, email, and websites. Additionally, these tools can help marketing departments automate tasks, like email campaigns, so that prospects receive marketing information at the exact time you want them to receive it (rather than when the marketing team remembers or has time to send it).


In short, it’s a way for your company to manage your email marketing, your website forms, your social media traffic, your online lead generation, and to track visitors coming to your website (as well as where they came from).


Can It Improve My Sales?

We think so! We have integrated Act-On with our Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and in doing so, we are able to connect our online leads with our sales team—we can select what information we want to “push” from Act-On to Dynamics CRM, and we can even set up notifications for our sales team for follow up.


With Act-On, you can also set up email campaigns based on specific “triggers.” For example, you may want to have an email campaign that targets a specific audience—say, business owners—around a specific event, like an insurance deadline. You could build an automatic email campaign that encourages them to take the action you want them to take, all the while controlling what day and time you want them to receive each email. Let’s say you want to send two informational emails plus a “last chance to act” email—with Act-On, you can do that by building the campaign once, pressing start, and letting the leads roll in without any further management of the campaign. This is also helpful when inviting your prospects to events.


You can also leverage Act-On in coordination with your website and any paid search activities you have running. In this instance, you can build website forms for your website, emails, online searches and social media. If you connect Act-On to your CRM (Dynamics or otherwise), you can tell Act-On to create a lead in your CRM system every time someone fills out a specific form. Or, you can set it to notify you if someone downloads your whitepaper.


Want to know if a given campaign or webpage is working? Act-On can help you there, too, by providing reports on website traffic (including where that traffic is originating) and easy to read email results.
